If at first you don't succeed, try, try again...
Brock and Chambers are like the little engines that could*. Neither gives up... On ugly artworks.
32-year-old East Coast artist, Kadar Brock takes his "failed" paintings and buries them beneath layers of paint. Still not satisfied, Brock then takes to the canvas with a belt sander until the old shape of the former painting dictates a new a beautiful surface.
Matthew Chambers, a 30-year-old, untrained West Coast artist is also into creative destructive. Not one to be picky, he takes inspiration from anything and everything. In his rush to put all these sources to canvas he ends up with some ugly paintings. Instead of binning them, he cuts them into strips, reweaves them, and paints them white.
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can. Toot toot!
